Do Phil Lord and Chris Miller ever sleep? While they’re preparing to direct that Han Solo spinoff, the duo are also working in some form on everything from The LEGO Movie 2 to an animated Spider-Man movie, and Warner Bros. upcoming big screen take on The Flash.

Now, we can add Serial to that list, as the duo are adapting the hit podcast to television.

While plot details are being kept under wraps, the Serial TV series won’t follow the Adnan Syed case that host Sarah Koenig chronicled in the podcast which kept listeners hooked. Instead, the plan is, “to create a cable series based on the experience of making the hugely successful podcast.” Lord and Miller pitched their idea which apparently was met with a very positive response from Koenig and Fox 21 Television Studios, so it’s sounding very good.

Bear in mind that Lord and Miller are no strangers to working on small screen projects as they co-created animated comedy Clone High and served as writers on How I Met Your Mother for a Time. They now both also executive produce The Last Man on Earth.

It was recently revealed that the second season of Serial will revolve around Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, the Army soldier who went missing while deployed in Afghanistan and was held prisoner by the Taliban. What do you think about these plans for a Serial TV series?
