Scoot McNairy

After starring alongside Ben Affleck in Argo, Scoot McNairy will reunite with the man who also directed him in that Academy Award winning movie for Zack Snyder’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice (though they will both be seen in David Fincher’s Gone Girl before the release of the DC Comics adaptation in 2016).

When Affleck joined the team-up movie as Batman, he brought Argo screenwriter Chris Terrio with him to polish David Goyer’s screenplay, so it’s possible that that has led to him making a few casting suggestions as well. Shooting on the highly anticipated movie is currently underway.

Deadline broke the news that McNairy has joined Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, but offered no details on who exactly he will be playing. It could be a supporting character or a member of the Justice League (he seems like a great fit for The Flash), but we’re just going to have to wait and see.

The rest of the cast currently includes Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, along with returning Man of Steel cast members, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane.

With a Justice League movie set to follow Batman V Superman, we’ll likely hear a lot more about the direction of the movie and the cast at next month’s San Diego Comic-Con.

McNairy most recently starred in the critically acclaimed 12 Years a Slave.
