Tom Hanks Cuppa 2

The London Film Festival came to a close tonight with the UK premiere of John Lee Hancock’s Saving Mr Banks, the tale of how the beloved Disney classic Mary Poppins made it to the big screen.

Telling the story of the woman who created an iconic fictional character not only allows Emma Thompson to put in a fantastic performance as P. L. Travers, it gives Tom Hanks the opportunity to play the mercurial Walt Disney. It is a turn a million miles away from his role in Captain Phillips, the film which opened the festival eleven days ago

Tom Hanks, Emma Thompson and Colin Farrell were on hand to send this year’s festival off in fine form and we were on the red carpet to meet them.

Our review of the film will be up shortly, for now here are our interviews from this evening.
