Tarantino-XX-Collection-CoverLast month marked the 20th anniversary of the release of Quentin Tarantino’s directorial debut, Reservoir Dogs. In honour of such a fantastic milestone, an eight-film Blu-ray collection box set is being released in the US today, and the UK next week, in plenty of time for Christmas.

Included in the eight-film collection are two discs of all-new bonus features, totalling five hours, and Yahoo Movies have released a little snippet of one featurette, in which Samuel L. Jackson talks about meeting and working with John Travolta for Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction, which earned the writer-director an Oscar for his screenplay.

“Tarantino XX contains eight films chosen by Tarantino to illustrate the first 20 years of his career, featuring the films that helped define his early success, including Reservoir Dogs, True Romance, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill Vol. 1, Kill Bill Vol. 2, Death Proof and Inglourious Basterds. To complete the stunning high definition 10-disc set, the Tarantino XX: 8-Film Collection also features two discs with five hours of all-new bonus material, highlighted by a critics’ retrospective on Tarantino’s groundbreaking catalog of films and “20 Years of Filmmaking” that contains interviews with critics, stars and other masters of cinema.”

Included in the collection, Tarantino XX, in chronological order, will be:

Reservoir Dogs, True Romance, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill Vols. I and II, Death Proof, and Inglourious Basterds.

There’s plenty of room for debate as to what else could or should have been included in this box set, but as it stands, it looks to be a perfect addition to your film collection for any fan of Tarantino, and I’m looking forward to adding it to mine, too.

Tarantino is of course back behind the camera, in the height of this year’s awards season, to bring us Django Unchained, led by the likes of Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kerry Washington, and Samuel L. Jackson, and we can’t wait for it to land – on Christmas Day in the US, and 18th January in the UK.

Tarantino XX is released in the US today, 20th November, and will be arriving here in the UK next Monday, 26th November.
