As Sam Worthington continues on his quest to get cast in as many future Hollywood productions as possible (so far he’s scheduled to appear in the sequel to Clash of the Titans, Dracula Year Zero and Dan Dare to name but a few) he’s off back down under to take the starring role in surf drama Drift.

In a fictitious take on the real-life story of the rise in popularity of this pastime, the film will follow Worthington’s character, a photographer and journalist, who is a major contributor to turning the world onto surfing.

The Playlist are reporting that the production is due to begin around springtime next year, so it looks like the actor could do with his own team of avatars in order to fulfil every screen appearance before than.
