As Russell Brand continues his ascend up the Hollywood ladder, news comes through from Deadline New York that the comedian is eyeing up the role of 14th century mercenary John Hawkswood in an action-comedy re-telling of his life.
The film will be written by Jared Stern (scribe on Brand’s next feature Arthur, which is currently in production) and is being developed by 20th Century Fox.
The subject matter alone sounds like it could be a potentially interesting project and given Brand’s energetic, foppish demeanour, he looks like an ideal fit for the material.
