A new international trailer has been released for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and while it’s mostly made up of previously seen footage, there’s a lot of interesting new material here.

Perhaps the biggest reveal is the fact that Jyn Erso’s father (played by Mads Mikkelsen) has something to do with the Rebellion’s decision to steal the Death Star plans. Past reports have pointed to him being somehow involved with its construction, so why he would turn on the Empire remains to be seen. Chances are his daughter has something to do with it though!

The excitement to see more of Jyn continues to grow, especially as she’s a bit of a mystery.

“She is absolutely a very unlikely heroine,” Felicity Jones said in a recent interview. “She’s someone on the edges and fringes of society. Physically, she’s smaller than everyone else around her. When someone has something they believe in, that’s what powers them, that’s what motivates them, that’s what can give someone enormous strength.” As for how women are viewed in the Rebellion, she added: “I would say there’s a huge amount of respect for women. Mon Mothma is ultimately, for Jyn, someone she looks up to. So even as the film opens [Jyn] has a strong female role model in front of her, and someone she respects.”

The cast of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story includes Felicity Jones, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Donnie Yen, Forest Whitaker, Diego Luna, Riz Ahmed, and a number of others, and it’s currently set to be released on December 16th, later this year. Here’s that new trailer:
