Academy Award Winner Reese Witherspoon (Wild, Walk The Line) is set to join the cast of A Wrinkle in Time, the latest film from acclaimed director Ava DuVernay (Selma).

An adaptation of the classic children’s book by Madeleine L’Engle, the film is being produced by Disney and has already landed Oprah Winfrey in one of the three lead roles. The other is reportedly set to be filled by Mindy Kaling (Ocean’s Eight) who is also in talks.

The book tells the story of a young girl sets off on a journey through space to find her missing father with her brother and schoolmate. On the journey they are helped by three supernatural entities called Mrs. Which (Winfrey), Mrs. Who (Kaling) and Mrs. Whatsit (Witherspoon).

Scripted by Jennifer Lee (Frozen), A Wrinkle in Time is set to star filming in November for an April 2018 release.
