RED-2-PosterBruce Willis and co. will be back on the big screen this summer in RED 2, following on from Robert Schwentke’s hilarious action-comedy of 2010.

Dean Parisot is taking to the helm in Schwentke’s place this time around, and with only a few more months to go before the film hits, Summit have begun gearing up their campaign in recent weeks, and things are looking awesome.

The first full-length trailer debuted late last month, and now they’ve released a great new poster, via moviefone, showcasing the returning leads and the new additions to the cast.

In RED 2, the high-octane action-comedy sequel to the worldwide sleeper hit, retired black-ops CIA agent Frank Moses reunites his unlikely team of elite operatives for a global quest to track down a missing portable nuclear device. To succeed, they’ll need to survive an army of relentless assassins, ruthless terrorists and power-crazed government officials, all eager to get their hands on the next-generation weapon. The mission takes Frank and his motley crew to Paris, London and Moscow. Outgunned and outmanned, they have only their cunning wits, their old-school skills, and each other to rely on as they try to save the world-and stay alive in the process.

Willis is joined once more by Mary-Louise Parker, John Malkovich, Helen Mirren, and Brian Cox. And starring alongside them will be Catherine Zeta-Jones, Anthony Hopkins, Lee Byung-hun, Neal McDonagh, and David Thewlis.

Parisot (Galaxy Quest, Fun with Dick and Jane) is directing from a script co-written by brothers Erich and Jon Hoeber, returning to the franchise once more.

RED 2 will be released in the US on July 19th, with its UK release date following shortly after on 2nd August. If you’ve seen the first film, you’ll know this is definitely one of the unmissable blockbusters of the summer. And if you’re yet to see it, then you’ve still got a few months to play catch-up.

Since graduating, I spend as much time as possible watching films/TV shows, reading books, and listening to music. So getting to write about what I love is nothing short of awesome. Biggest film-related hope for 2014/ever: Guy Ritchie announcing the RocknRolla sequel is finally moving forward.
