R.I.P.D.-PosterWith Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges leading the cast, and RED’s Robert Schwentke behind the camera, I really can’t help but have a very good feeling about R.I.P.D.

The film, which more than earns itself a top spot amongst our must-see movies of the month, is bound for the multiplex across the Atlantic in two weeks. And with its release so close on the horizon, a new featurette has surfaced online, via CBM, taking us behind the scenes with the cast.

JEFF BRIDGES and RYAN REYNOLDS headline the 3D supernatural action-adventure R.I.P.D. as two cops dispatched by the otherworldly Rest In Peace Department to protect and serve the living from an increasingly destructive array of creatures who refuse to move peacefully into the afterlife.

Reynolds and Bridges are joined by an excellent cast, led by the brilliant Mary-Louise Parker, Kevin Bacon, Robert Knepper, James Hong, Marisa Miller, Stephanie Szostak, and Mike O’Malley.

Schwentke is directing from a script co-written by Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay (Æon Flux, Clash of the Titans), based on Peter M. Lenkov’s original Dark Horse comic.

Around the web, there’s been a lot of comparisons between this and Men in Black, following that first trailer that was released back in the spring. And whilst those comparisons are, to a certain extent, inevitable, I still feel like this is going to have its own unique look and feel, and be a huge hit amongst cinemagoers in the coming weeks.

R.I.P.D. is hitting in 3D on July 19th in the US, before cross the Atlantic at the end of next month with its UK release date set for 20th September. For now, here’s the new featurette to hold you over until then.
