Jake-Gyllenhaal-and-Hugh-Jackman-in-PrisonersWhen you have Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal leading the cast, you know that you’re in for a good movie, and Prisoners is definitely shaping up to be one of the year’s best.

We saw the first teaser trailer surface a few weeks ago, giving us a terrific look at the upcoming thriller. And now Warner Bros. have released the first full trailer, via Apple, giving us another powerful look at the film.

Keller Dover is facing every parent’s worst nightmare. His 6-year-old daughter and her young friend are missing, and as minutes turn to hours, panic sets in. The only lead is a dilapidated RV that had been parked on their street. Heading the investigation, Detective Loki arrests its driver, but a lack of evidence forces the only suspect’s release. Knowing his child’s life is at stake, the frantic Dover decides he has no choice but to take matters into his own hands. The desperate father will do whatever it takes to find the girls, but in doing so, may lose himself, begging the question: When do you cross the line between seeking justice and becoming a vigilante?

Starring alongside Jackman and Gyllenhaal is an all-star cast, led by Terrence Howard, Maria Bello, Viola David, Melissa Leo, and Paul Dano.

The BAFTA-nominated Denis Villeneuve (Incendies) is directing from a script penned by Aaron Guizikowski (Contraband), with Oscar nominee Roger Deakins (Skyfall, The Shawshank Redemption) serving working his magic as cinematographer.

Prisoners will be released in the US on September 20th, with its UK release date falling soon after on 4th October. I can’t wait. This is sure to be brilliant.
