Saban’s Power Rangers are the latest nostalgia-infused property to return to the big screen. There were many (many…) iterations of the Japanese-inspired teen teams on the small screen, with only the original host making it all the way to the cinemas with 1995’s Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie.
Briefly glossing over the amazing (and unauthorised) Joseph Kahn short (see the brutal, bloody mess here) the journey is almost at an end. Next week Power Rangers jumps into UK cinemas and we have interviews with the new Rangers team for you today.
The interviews were conducted by our man James Kleinmann, who took time with Dacre Montgomery (Jason the Red Ranger), RJ Cyler (Billy the Blue Ranger), Ludi Lin (Zack the Black Ranger) and Naomi Scott (Kimberly the Pink Ranger) with Becky G (Trini the Yellow Ranger).
Joining the enthusiastic quintet in the movie are Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa, Bryan Cranston as Zordon and Bill Hader who lent his voice to Alpha 5, and you can see some crazy concept art for that character right here.
Power Rangers release date: 23rd March.
