With its declining critical success doing nothing to persuade the movie-going public that their money is better spent elsewhere the Pirates of the Caribbean series returns for movie number 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
Javier Bardem is Captain Salazar, whose beef with Johnny Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow extends beyond the grave and he escapes from a place called The Devil’s Triangle, bound to seek out Sparrow and take revenge for something very important indeed.
Over the weekend this poster washed up on the shores of the internet,
and then last night the first trailer appeared with the usual swashbuckling shenanigans, and Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and the rest back for yet another tall tale on the high seas.
Those returning include Orlando Bloom, Geoffrey Rush and Kevin McNally along with Stephen Graham, Martin Klebba, Brenton Thwaites, David Wenham, Kaya Scodelario, Golshifteh Farahani and even Paul McCartney (riffing on the Keith Richards appearance in the series – who next? Phil Collins?). The film hoves into view around May 2017.
