It was revealed not too long ago that Anthony and Joe Russo were being lined up to take on a new Ghostbusters movie following Paul Feig’s female led reboot, but now another famous directing duo are being eyed to enter what is apparently being set up as a shared universe: Phil Lord and Chris Miller.

The LEGO Movie and Jump Street helmers are being looked at to take on a future instalment of the comedy horror franchise at some point down the line according to The Wrap’s Jeff Sneider on his Meet the Movie Press podcast. Whether it’s the next one starring Channing Tatum and Chris Pratt or something else altogether isn’t clear, but it’s thought that the Russos will helm that unless they’re too busy with Marvel.

However, this isn’t the only big project studio bosses want the duo for. The reporter also mentioned that Warner Bros. want them to direct The Flash, a character they have some experience with after he made a cameo appearance in The LEGO Movie. That’s set to come out in 2018 and stars Ezra Miller as The Flash.

This should remain strictly a rumour for now as it doesn’t sound as if any talks have taken place, and it’s not exactly hard to imagine Lord and Miller being at the top of many lists when it comes to upcoming movies.

They were originally interested in the third  Ghostbusters but passed before Sony changed direction and it became a reboot. Seeing them take on a movie like The Flash is something their fans would love to see…
