Patton Oswalt and Patrick Wilson are both said to be in advanced talks to star opposite Charlize Theron in Young Adult.
Jason Reitman is on board to direct from a script penned by his Juno collaborator Diablo Cody.
Young Adult centers on a a divorced ghost writer (Theron) from the Midwest who returns to her hometown to reconnect with an old flame, who’s now married with a family.
Although nothing has been confirmed, it’s likely Wilson will take on the role of the ex-high school boyfriend, while Oswalt could play Theron’s physically disabled friend, who’s not afraid to speak his mind.
Pre-production has is already underway, with filming expected to commence at the start of November.
Young Adult is a co-production between Mandate Pictures and Indian Paintbrush.
