Brad Pitt’s Plan B production company has been gaining serious momentum of late. Their recent success saw their latest film, Moonlight, (eventually) win the Best Picture Oscar, and their magic touch found its way onto the small screen with Zal Batmanglij’s The OA. Its new film will also appear on Netflix, and today a trailer for Okja arrived online.

This is the latest from Snowpiercer and Mother director Bong Joon-ho, co-written with Jon Ronson with a multi-national cast bringing the strange tale to the small screen. The dual allowances of a free hand and a decent budget were the factor that brought the director and the distributor. He told The Atlantic,

“For Okja, I needed a bigger budget than I had for Snowpiercer and also complete creative freedom. Netflix offered me the two conditions that are difficult to have in hand simultaneously.”

The director also spoke with the NME about the film, and Lily Collins’ character.

“Red is part of a group of animal rights activists that figure into the story. On Wall Street, it’s the heart of capitalism. On the surface is a story about an animal, but it’s essentially a story about capitalism.”

Young actress Ahn Seo-hyun leads the film as Mila, who is shown in the trailer caring for the titular creature. You’ll also see a wonderful coiffured Tilda Swinton getting ready to kick the narrative into gear. You’ll also see the likes of Jake Gyllenhaal, Paul Dano, Steven Yeun, Lily Collins, Devon Bostick, Byun Hee-bong, and Shirley Henderson in the film, though they’re not present here. There were a few on set images which made their way online – check below the trailer for some outstanding Gyllenhaal fashion.
