Wrath of the Titans, the follow-up to 2010’s Clash of the Titans, is just a week and a half away from its big screen bow, and the things we’ve seen so far have been as action- and effects-heavy as you’d expect.

Sam Worthington, Ralph Fiennes, Liam Neeson, and Danny Huston are reprising their roles from the original, with Toby Kebbell, Rosamund Pike, Édgar Ramirez, and Bill Nighy joining them for this second time around.

We now have a new featurette to share with you, courtesy of Apple, that mixes trailer footage with interviews with the filmmakers and a voice-over describing the mythological two-headed beast, the Chimera:

“The Chimera is a fire-spewing fiend that takes the form of a multi-beast mash-up. Dual razor-toothed heads. Colossal wings. And a tail tipped with a serpent’s head. All armed with one explosive weapon… A Chimera sighting, should one somehow escape alive, is considered an omen of destruction, portending disasters from shipwrecks to volcanic eruptions. These ferocious creatures are truly the harbingers of doom.”

Jonathan Liebesman (Battle: Los Angeles) has gone behind the camera for the sequel, with a script co-written by David Johnson (TV’s The Walking Dead) and Dan Mazeau (who makes his debut).

I missed the first film, so can’t really judge, but know that it wasn’t received critically well, but nonetheless took an impressive $493m. at the box office, so it will be interesting to see how the sequel fares, both critically and commercially.

Wrath of the Titans will be released in 3D and IMAX 3D on 30th March both here in the UK and out in the US, so if you’re looking for an action blockbuster next weekend, this could well be yours for the taking. Enjoy. For all the rest of our coverage so far, you can click right here. And to watch this new featurette in HD, you can head over to Apple here.
