The increasingly prominent animation house, Blue Sky Studios (Ice Age, Rio), are returning next year to bring us Epic, an animated adventure that promises to live up to the brilliance of its name.
Directed by Chris Wedge (Ice Age), the film boasts an all-star voice cast, and we got to see the first teaser trailer back in the summer. With the film’s release just over half a year away, a great new trailer has landed over at Apple.
“EPIC is a 3D CG action-adventure comedy that reveals a hidden world unlike any other. From the creators of ICE AGE and RIO, EPIC tells the story of an ongoing battle deep in the forest between the forces of good who keep the natural world alive and the forces of evil who wish to destroy it. When a teen age girl finds herself magically transported into this secret universe, she must band together with a rag-tag team of fun and whimsical characters in order to save their world… and ours.”
The impressive voice cast is led by Colin Farrell, Amanda Seyfried, Josh Hutcherson, Christoph Waltz, Jason Sudeikis, Pitbull, Steven Tyler, Aziz Ansari, Blake Anderson, Judah Friedlander, and Beyoncé Knowles, with Wedge directing from a script by Daniel Shere.
And in case you’re curious, the awesome song playing in the trailer below is Snow Patrol’s What If The Storm Ends?, the first part of their three-part song, The Lightning Strike.
