The first trailer has been released for Denis Villeneuve’s (Prisoners) Sicario. Written by Taylor Sheridan, Emily Blunt (Edge of Tomorrow) stars as an idealistic FBI agent who finds herself recruited by a task force to take out a deadly Mexican cartel boss. Villeneuve is next expected to direct the anticipated Blade Runner sequel.

Sicario’s cast also includes Josh Brolin (Guardians of the Galaxy), Benicio Del Toro (Inherent Vice), Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead), Victor Garber (The Flash), and Maximiliano Hernández (The Avengers).

No doubt one of the most exciting things about Sicario is that it will reunite Villeneuve with Skyfall cinematographer Roger Deakins after they worked together on Prisoners. Throw in the impressive cast listed above and the fact that the movie just sounds great, and it looks like the director has another hit on the way.

In Mexico, Sicario means hitman. According to the official synopsis, in the lawless border area stretching between the U.S. and Mexico, an idealistic FBI agent is enlisted by an elite government task force official to aid in the escalating war against drugs. Led by an enigmatic consultant with a questionable past, the team sets out on a clandestine journey forcing Kate to question everything that she believes in order to survive.
