The BBC has today released a new promo and behind the scenes featurette for the highly anticipated ninth series of Doctor Who. The former reveals some great new footage from the first few episodes, while the latter includes interviews with Steven Moffat, Peter Capaldi and, Jenna Coleman as they all tease what’s to come when the show returns this month.

Series nine of Doctor Who will kick off with a two-parter written by Moffat and directed by Hettie Macdonald. They’re titled “The Magician’s Apprentice” and “The Witch’s Familiar.”

As per usual, plot details have been kept a closely guarded secret, though Capaldi did drop some very intriguing hints in a recent interview with EW. “[The Doctor is] throwing himself into life with a newfound hunger for adventure. He’s in pursuit of joy and grabbing every thrill that he can along the way. But I sense him running from something, that even he does not yet understand.” If that’s not a good enough reason to tune in, then what could be?

How about a planned appearance from Game of Thrones actress Maisie Williams? She’ll be showing up in a two-part episode revolving around Odin (played by David Schofield).
