Andy-Serkis-as-Caesar-in-Dawn-of-the-Planet-of-the-Apes

During last night’s season four finale of The Walking Dead in the US, a new TV spot for Matt Reeves’ Dawn of the Planet of the Apes was aired, and it features a ton of incredible new footage from the highly anticipated sequel.

The follow-up to Rise of the Planet of the Apes is set ten years after that movie, and focuses on Caesar as he attempts to lead the colony of apes who he led to freedom from captivity several years earlier. Meanwhile, a virus has wiped out most of humanity, but those left are fighting for survival.

Also below (via Collider) is a brand new poster for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes featuring an older Caesar and one of his children.

This sequel looks fantastic, and after rave reviews of the footage which was shown off during CinemaCon recently, we should be in for a real treat come July 11th. Check out the TV spot and poster below, and then be sure to let us know your thoughts on the latest instalment of this new Planet of the Apes franchise in the usual place!

Starring Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Enrique Murciano, Kirk Acevedo and Judy Greer, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is set to be released on July 11th, 2014.
