After catching the first red-band trailer for horror comedy Cockneys vs. Zombies last week, we’ve got a brand new poster and an Olympics-themed TV spot to share, ahead of the film’s release at the end of the month.

In true horror comedy spirit, the latest event entering the Games sees an elderly Londoner going head-to-head against a blood-covered zombie in the 10m lurch.

“A bunch of east-easters fight their way out of a zombie infested London, lead by an unlikely gang of amateur banks robbers and foul-mouthed plucky pensioners. Starring Michelle Ryan, Honor Blackman and Harry Treadaway. The undead are brown bread.”

Michelle Ryan, Honor Blackman, Georgia King, Harry Treadaway, and Alan Ford lead the cast, with Matthias Hoene making his feature directorial debut from a script co-written by James Moran (Spooks, the upcoming Tower Block) and editor Lucas Roche (Dead Man’s Shoes), who makes his screenwriting debut.

Cockneys vs. Zombies will be released in the UK on 31st August, and will be debuting at Film4 FightFest on 23rd August, before heading to the Berlin Fantasy Filmfest on 29th August, if you’re lucky enough to be attending either of those festivals. For now, enjoy this new poster, which you can click to enlarge, followed by the 10m lurch.
