Pain-and-Gain-PosterPain and Gain sees director Michael Bay return behind the camera for his first film outside of the Transformers franchise since 2005’s The Island. And with Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson in the leads, there’s every reason to expect great things next spring.

The first teaser poster for the film landed back in September, and Yahoo Movies have debuted what looks to be the first proper theatrical poster for the film, giving us a great look at Wahlberg and Johnson front and centre.

“Based on a Miami New Times article from 1999, “Pain and Gain” will follow a pair of Florida bodybuilders who get caught up in an extortion ring and a kidnapping scheme that goes terribly wrong.”

Starring alongside the leading duo will be a brilliant cast, headed up by Anthony Mackie (The Adjustment Bureau), Ed Harris (A Beautiful Mind), Rob Corddry (Warm Bodies), Ken Jeong (The Hangover), Rebel Wilson (Pitch Perfect), and Tony Shalhoub (Monk).

Bay is directing from a script penned by writing duo Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely (Captain America: The First Avenger), based on an original article by Pete Collins.

Pain and Gain will be hitting the US on 26th April, 2013, following a week later in the UK on 3rd May. For now, here’s the great new poster, which you can click through to enlarge.
