2016 is going to be one hell of a year for movies (and TV shows), and a huge selection of new images from many of the year’s most highly anticipated releases have found their way online today courtesy of Entertainment Weekly and Empire. Among those covered here are Assassin’s Creed, Deadpool, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Ghostbusters, and The Jungle Book. We even have even more great shots from Daredevil season two.

A few of these have been accompanied with new story details too. In the case of Ghostbusters, we now have a better idea of what to expect when it comes to the villain as it will apparently feature, “Dead criminals from all eras of New York’s underbelly past have returned to roost among the living in Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters reboot. Pilgrims, old-timey sailors, Revolutionary War spirits, and even a couple of zoot-suited gangsters are ready to take on four formidable female busters looking to rid the city of its phantasmic filth.”

Jon Favreau meanwhile has shared his thoughts on casting the young Neel Sethi in the lead role of Mowgli in The Jungle Book. “There was a certain quality we wanted, and we knew he was going to have to carry the film. So it was going to have to be somebody that had a certain charisma, a certain charm and certain qualities that I remember from the cartoon.”

Finally, Ryan Reynolds has shed some light on what we should expect from Deadpool in terms of humour, and it sounds like the alternate takes on the Blu-ray will be a lot of fun. “[The set] was an alternate-joke factory. For one joke in the movie we wrote 16 versions.”
