Led by Tom Cruise, Jack Reacher is one of the biggest action blockbusters of the year, and is already being touted by critics as an awesome start to what could be a brilliant new franchise for Cruise.
The film marks the first adaptation in the best-selling series of novels by Lee Child, and will be hitting theatres in the US this Friday.
We’ve seen plenty from the film already to suggest we can look forward to Cruise doing what he does best, and with the Stateside release just days away, Paramount have released a new featurette giving a great behind-the-scenes look at some of the car chase/crash scenes.
“When a gunman takes five lives with six shots, all evidence points to the suspect in custody. On interrogation, the suspect offers up a single note: “Get Jack Reacher!” So begins an extraordinary chase for the truth, pitting Jack Reacher against an unexpected enemy, with a skill for violence and a secret to keep.”
Starring alongside Cruise is an excellent cast, headed up by Rosamund Pike, Richard Jenkins, David Oyelowo, Robert Duvall, and Werner Herzog.
Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects) is at the helm, and is directing from his own script, having adapted the original novel, One Shot, by Lee Child.
Jack Reacher will hitting US theatres hard this Friday, 21st December, before getting its release in the UK next Wednesday on Boxing Day, 26th December. Each territory sees the film given the same opening weekend as Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol last year, and there’s every reason to expect a repeat performance at the box office from Cruise.
