Harmony Korine’s Spring Breakers is one of the most anticipated films about to make its debut on the festival circuit, taking in both Venice and Toronto next week.

The first clip from the film landed yesterday, and now a new clip – not suitable for work – has debuted as part of the Venice opening ceremonies reel – it isn’t in brilliant quality, but it’s still awesome. Craig caught a few minutes of footage back at Cannes, and thought it was definitely one to look out for – you can read his preview report here.

Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, and James Franco lead a brilliant cast, with all three promising to show a different side than we’re used to seeing from them, with Ashley Benson, Rachel Korine, and Heather Morris completing the cast nicely.

“Brit, Candy, Cotty, and Faith have been best friends since grade school. They live together in a boring college dorm and are hungry for adventure. All they have to do is save enough money for spring break to get their shot at having some real fun. A serendipitous encounter with rapper “Alien” promises to provide the girls with all the thrill and excitement they could hope for. With the encouragement of their new friend, it soon becomes unclear how far the girls are willing to go to experience a spring break they will never forget.”

Korine is directing once more from his own script, with the score coming from a very promising duo in the form of Skrillex and composer Cliff Martinez (Drive, Contagion).

Spring Breakers will debut first at Venice, following it up with its North American debut at TIFF next Friday. It will be seeking distribution, and we’re hoping that it will be a smooth process to get it in theatres across the world, because this is something we’re all going to want to see. For now, here’s the great new clip – and one more reminder, it’s naturally not suitable for work. Enjoy.
