Gibbons'Alan Partridge (Steve Coogan) has been a British comedy icon for almost two decades now – but it’s the fictional characters’ latest recruits who have given him the new lease of life he deserved, as we caught up with the writers of Alan’s debut feature Alpha Papa, Neil and Rob Gibbons.

The brothers (it’s not that much of a coincidence) first came on board to supply material for Alan’s Mid Morning Matters, a show which encouraged the filmmakers to finally bring the much loved Norfolk broadcaster to the big screen. The pair discuss the challenge in adding new comedy material to an already established character, and just how long they had been planning this movie- which hits cinemas on August 7 nationwide.
