She will, however, still act as producer for the Lionsgate production.

Portman’s departure comes a day after David O. Russell announced he would be leaving the gestating project in favour of Old St. Louis, a dramedy that will see him working with Vince Vaughn, citing scheduling difficulties as his reason.

Portman will next be seen in Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan, for which she’s receiving rave reviews and awards talk.
