So it’s now 4.30am, it’s getting light outside and it’s about time I go to bed, but before I do, I have to bring the opening of tonight’s MTV 2010 Movie Awards to your attention. Although the evening was dominated by all things Twilight as we knew it would be, let’s cast that aside as the opening of the show was simply awesome!
If you’ve seen Tropic Thunder, you’ll be familiar with Tom Cruise’ cameo as Les Grossman in the movie that saw him busting some moves on the dance floor. Well, MTV resurrected that character this evening to see him go up against Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Will Smith, Jaden Smith and Michael Cera in an opening that was extremely funny.
MTV have been good enough to make the opening available and I’ve embedded it below. This evening’s performance was pretty ridiculous (see the winners here) when it comes to the awards but some of the new clips were worth watching from Scott Pilgrm vs. The World, The Last Airbender and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, all of which you can see here along with all our coverage from the MTV Movie Awards 2010 which will air this evening on MTV UK at 9PM.
