The X-Men movies have introduced a lot of great villains, but there’s still a long list of bad guys who have yet to receive the big screen treatment they deserve. One of those is the evil Mr. Sinister, though with “Essex Corp.” mentioned in X-Men: Apocalypse’s intriguing after-credits scene, fans have been wondering for a while now if his time has finally come.

Well, it seems so as a new report claims that Bryan Singer confirms that we’ll see Mr. Sinister in James Mangold’s upcoming sequel to The Wolverine (which is rumoured to be titled Wolverine: Weapon X). What exactly the villain will be getting up to remains to be seen, but with X-23 rumoured to appear, him being involved in her creation makes sense.

We also don’t know who will play him, though among the possibilities are Richard E. Grant, Stephen Merchant, and Boyd Holbrook. Mr. Sinister is a character who could very well appear in a future X-Men movie too, whether that’s the X-Men: Apocalypse sequel or even Gambit.

For now though, Wolverine: Weapon X seems like a good place for him to make his debut, especially after we saw one of his underlings take a sample of Logan’s DNA. Now that shooting n the movie has wrapped, we’ll hopefully see something official from it soon.
