Mr.-Peabody-&-ShermanEveryone’s favourite talking dog is about to have his big screen debut, with DreamWorks just weeks away from releasing Mr. Peabody & Sherman, one of the first big animated films of the year.

With its UK release right around the corner at the start of next month, the studio has launched a new trailer, as well as a new clip via Fandango, showcasing the talents of the eponymous Mr. Peabody, notably credited with inventing the fist bump. What a dog.

Mr. Peabody, the most accomplished dog in the world, and his mischievous boy Sherman, use their time machine—the Wabac—to go on the most outrageous adventures known to man or dog. But when Sherman takes the Wabac out for a joyride to impress his friend Penny, they accidently rip a hole in the universe, wreaking havoc on the most important events in world history. Before they forever alter the past, present and future, Mr. Peabody must come to their rescue, ultimately facing the most daunting challenge of any era: figuring out how to be a parent. Together, the time-traveling trio will make their mark on history.

Ty Burrell of course leads the voice cast as Mr. Peabody, with Max Charles lending his voice as Sherman, alongside Stephen Colbert, Ellie Kemper, Ariel Winter, Allison Janney, Stephen Tobolowsky, Mel Brooks, Leslie Mann, Dennis Haysbert, and Stanley Tucci.

The Lion King’s Rob Minkoff directs from a script written by Emmy nominee Craig Wright (Six Feet Under, Lost), based on the original characters from The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show.

Mr. Peabody & Sherman will be released in 3D on 7th February here in the UK and Ireland, with its US release date following a month later on March 7th.
