Mr.-Peabody-&-ShermanOver the summer, DreamWorks launched a great first teaser poster for their upcoming animated blockbuster, Mr. Peabody & Sherman, giving a little glimpse of the titular characters as we can expect to see them early next year.

With its release date fast approaching, the studio has now released the first official images from the film, giving a new look at the two leads alongside some of their animated co-stars, and you can be sure that the first trailer won’t be far behind.

Emmy Award winner Ty Burrell (Modern Family) voices Mr. Peabody, the world’s smartest person who happens to be a dog. When his “pet” boy Sherman, voiced by Max Charles (The Amazing Spider-Man), uses their time traveling WABAC machine without permission, events in history spiral out of control to disastrous and comical results. It’s up to this most unexpected of father-son teams to somehow put things back on track before the space-time continuum is irreparably destroyed.

Ty Burrell and Max Charles voice Mr. Peabody and Sherman, respectively, with a brilliant supporting cast lending their vocal talents alongside them, led by Stephen Colbert, Ellie Kemper, Ariel Winter, Allison Janney, Stephen Tobolowsky, Mel Brooks, Leslie Mann, and Stanley Tucci.

Rob Minkoff (The Lion King) is at the helm, directing from a script penned by Craig Wright (Lost, Six Feet Under), based on the original characters from The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show.

Mr. Peabody & Sherman will be released in 3D on 7th February, 2014 here in the UK, with its US release date set for slightly later on March 7th. For now, here are the first official images, which you can click through to enlarge. With any luck, the trailer will be following very shortly.
