It’s been a great week for news on the DC Extended Universe, with comments from Ben Affleck on the chances of him directing a solo Batman movie, huge plot details for Wonder Woman, and some very cool new images from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Now, we have even more stills from the latter (which you can view in the gallery below) along with some fresh plot details revealed by the cast and crew of the 2016 movie.

It was revealed in the latest issue of Total Film that Batman v Superman picks up 18 months after the events of Man of Steel, and Henry Cavill confirmed that the movie is going to kick off with a “prologue” sequence featuring the battle between Superman and General Zod from Bruce Wayne’s perspective. “What happens there is one of Bruce’s buildings gets destroyed and he’s trying to save all the people inside the building and he can’t,” the British actor explained. “So he is this angry person who fears what Superman may do. Why are they just going to trust this super-powered alien? What if he does decide to turn against us?”

That goes some way in further explaining the conflict between Batman and Superman then, and another character who will clearly have something of a tense relationship with Bruce Wayne is Lex Luthor according to Jesse Eisenberg. “It’s strange acting with people like Ben Affleck, having to condescend to someone like him. Off set, you’re thinking of this person is reverential terms, and then on set I condescending him, really quite nasty…” Intriguing!

Finally, director Zack Snyder chimed in with his take on how Batman can square off against the Man of Steel. “The advantage that Batman has is the goodness of Superman. The compliance to fair lay that Superman has…Batman knows how to exploit Superman.”

He’ll be exploiting him with an armoured Batsuit laced with Kryptonite, and in another surprising revelation, Ben Affleck told the magazine that it’s actually 100% CGI (a surprise considering the fact that we’ve actually seen a physical version of that costume on display at various Comic-Cons). The actor described having to wear a motion capture suit as, “the most humiliating, ridiculous thing in the world,” but hey, suiting up as Daredevil was likely worse!
