It was recently revealed that Disney and Lucasfilm will release over 20 novels and storybooks filling in the gaps between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens later this year. There’s decades between them to explore, with the stories of Han, Luke, and Leia all ripe to explore now that the Expanded Universe is void.

Marvel Comics currently have three titles out – Star Wars, Darth Vader, and Princess Leia – which explore what happened following the events of A New Hope, but StarWars.com has now unveiled a teaser image (illustrated by Phil Noto) of one of their prequels to The Force Awakens. It will go on sale this September.

It appears as if “Shattered Empire” will focus on what happened after the fall of Darth Vader and The Emperor, but how many of the years which followed that event it will actually cover remains to be seen.

It was recently announced that Star Wars Episode VIII will be released in May 2017, while Gareth Edwards’ spinoff received a title (you can find all the details on that by clicking here).
