The countdown to Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel is very much on, with little more than two and a half weeks to go until the blockbuster of the year hits cinemas.

Everything we’ve seen from the film so far suggests it’s the one to beat this summer, and its arrival cannot come fast enough.

Last week, we were treated to an awesome new trailer, along with three very cool first character posters. And following on nicely from them comes two new TV spots from Warner Bros., raising the anticipation that much higher.

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as “Superman,” not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.

Henry Cavill takes the lead here as the Man of Steel himself. And he’s joined by a terrific cast, led by Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Russell Crowe, Diane Lane, Richard Schiff, Antje Traue, Ayelet Zurer, and Laurence Fishburne.

Snyder is directing from a script penned by David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight Trilogy), who co-wrote the story with frequent collaborator Christopher Nolan.

Man of Steel will be released in 2D, 3D, IMAX, and IMAX 3D on June 14th in the US and UK. If you haven’t already, be sure to commit that release date to memory. This is going to be epic.
