Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel is hands down one of our most anticipated films of 2013. The epic first full-length trailer debuted last month, giving us even more to look forward to when the film hits the big screen this summer.
And with Snyder recently teasing the possibility of Man of Steel tying into Warner Bros.’ upcoming Justice League movie, all bets are off as to how immense this is going to be.
We’ve got less than half a year to wait before it lands in theatres, and now USA Today have released a great new image of leading man Henry Cavill donning the suit that promises to be a defining point in his career.
“In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as “Superman,” not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.”
Cavill stars alongside an awesome cast, headed up by Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, and Michael Shannon as General Zod.
Snyder is directing from a script by David S. Goyer (the Batman trilogy), who co-wrote the story with Christopher Nolan.
Man of Steel will be released in 3D and IMAX theatres on 14th June, 2013, and that is definitely a date you’ll want to commit to memory. This is going to be incredible, no two ways about it. For now, here’s the latest image of our beloved Clark Kent / Kal-El / Superman.
