Zack Snyder’s immensely anticipated Man of Steel is less than two months from hitting the big screen, and we can’t wait for it to hit.
The comic book movie blockbuster brings Superman to the big screen once more, with Henry Cavill taking front and centre once more, opposite Michael Shannon as General Zod.
With the new trailer expected to debut at the MTV Movie Awards tonight, and arrive online possibly in two days’ time, Warner Bros. have debuted a new viral message from General Zod himself, with a mighty threat against our fare planet.
In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as “Superman,” not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.
Cavill and Shannon are joined by a brilliant ensemble, led by Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, and Laurence Fishburne.
Snyder is directing from a script by David S. Goyer (the Batman trilogy), who co-wrote the story with Christopher Nolan.
Man of Steel will be released in 3D and IMAX 3D on June 14th. That’s a release date you’ll want to remember, because this is going to be amazing. For now, here’s the rather awesome new viral message.
