MAD-MAX

Just when it was beginning to feel like this movie was never going to see the light of day, Mad Max: Fury Road has been featured on the cover of Entertainment Weekly, focusing on Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Rises) and a very different looking Charlize Theron (A Million Ways To Die In The West).

It was thirty five years ago that George Miller’s Max Mad left a massive impact on the action movie genre as a then 23 year old Mel Gibson took on a leading role in the desolate setting.

Mad Max: Fury Road will see the director head back to that world with a new story and cast, and in a brief interview with the site, Miller said: “I wanted to tell a linear story–a chase that starts as the movie begins and continues for 110 minutes. In this crucible of very intense action, the characters are revealed.”

In the movie, it will be Tom Hardy who takes over for Gibson as the damaged road warrior Max Rockatansky, and the shaved-headed Charlize Theron (pictured below) plays a ruthless commander named Imperator Furiosa. “It was mental in a brilliant way,” Hardy said of the seven months spent shooting in the desert of Namibia . “You have no concrete, no coffee shops. We were in the middle of a sandpit.”

Mad Max: Fury Road is set to be released sometime next year, so be sure to stay tuned to HeyUGuys for more details on the movie in the coming weeks and months.
