It may be released on January 1st, but you’d be pretty confident in claiming that A Monster Calls may just be the most moving film of 2017. Well, it certainly will evoke the most tears. We had the pleasure of meeting those who made us cry – lead stars Lewis MacDougall, and Liam Neeson.

We spoke to MacDougall about his experience shooting this quite remarkable piece of cinema, and the challenges that Neeson faced when voicing a CGI character, and finding the nuance in his vocal performance.

We were fortunate enough to also speak with director J.A. Bayona, author / screenwriter Patrick Ness and attend the premiere out at Toronto Film Festival and London Film Festival. Click this way to see all our coverage from the movie including the trailers, posters and imagery.

A Monster Calls is released in cinemas on New Year’s Day. You can read our 5* review from Toronto here.
