How exactly will King Kong be able to square off with the gigantic Godzilla we met in Gareth Edwards’ reboot? Well, we may finally have an answer courtesy of Kong: Skull Island director Jordan Vogt-Roberts. You see, this version of the iconic monster will be the biggest ever!

“This is going to be the biggest Kong there’s ever been,” he confirmed during a Warner Bros. presentation at CineEurope. “Not 10 foot or 30 foot, but a 100-foot ape.” That’s one heck of a massive ape, and it’s beginning to look like this movie will be even more unique than first thought. Godzilla is still a fair bit bigger than that, but we’ve previously heard that Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures (who are teaming up for the crossover) plan to address that.

The footage shown to those in attendance also revealed that Tom Hiddleston plays a former British SAS officer and that Captain Marvel frontrunner Brie Larson is a photojournalist. The cast of the movie also includes John C. Reilly and Samuel L. Jackson in unknown roles.

With Comic Con right around the corner, chances are that we’ll see something from Kong: Skull Island soon enough. The movie is currently set to be released on March 10th, 2017.
