Despite the fact that plenty of mysterious images from Alien: Covenant are being released on a regular basis, many fans have been wondering when we’d get to see something official from the highly anticipated Prometheus sequel/Alien prequel. Well, thanks to Entertainment Weekly, a brand new shot of a very different looking Katherine Waterston has now surfaced.
However, while the actress may not look much like she did in Steve Jobs and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, she does bear a striking resemblance to a certain other badass female hero from this franchise; we are of course talking about Sigourney Weaver’s Ripley! It’s worth noting though that a similar haircut doesn’t mean this is a relation!
Despite that, director Ridley Scott promises in an interview with the site that, “Covenant is really going to show you who did it and why.” What does that mean? We’ll have to wait and see, but it’s clear we’re finally going to get the answers Prometheus failed to provide us with!
Not much is known about the movie, but the synopsis reads: “Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the ‘synthetic’ David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.”
Alien: Covenant also stars Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Billy Crudup, Noomi Rapace, James Franco, and Guy Pearce, and it’s currently set to be released next May. Expect a trailer soon!
