Twelve months ago we were all expectantly waiting for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which would pit two iconic superheroes against one another on the big screen. Though it ended up falling far short of those expectations the cinematic trio of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman had a certain novelty value which will drive fans into the ultimate movie in the DC/Snyderverse – the long awaited Justice League.

Before the superhero mash up we have an intriguing prospect in Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman standalone film in June. Many considered Gadot’s appearance in Batman v Superman to be a breath of fresh air in amongst the glowering testosterone. Jenkins, too, is sure to bring something new to the dim and distant DCU. We caught up with Wonder Woman Gal Gadot, and an admiring Jon Hamm, at the press junket for their recent comedy vehicle Keeping Up with the Joneses to talk about the experience of working on set.

She lines up next to Ben Affleck’s Batman, and they share the new stage with Victor Stone (aka Cyborg, played by Ray Fisher), Barry Allen (or The Flash, played here by Ezra Miller) and Uncle Fish Curry – Jason Momoa’s Aquaman. Ciaran Hinds has been brought on board to portray the main villain of the piece, Steppenwolf and he is joined by other newcomers J. K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon, and Willem Dafoe. Returning players include Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Amber Heard, Amy Adams and old Supes himself – Henry Cavill. The ending of Batman v Superman accounts for Cavill’s absence in the Justice League promo however you can bet he’ll be revealed soon enough.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League is released worldwide on the 17th of November, and Wonder Woman lands in UK and US cinemas on the 2nd of June.
