After just thirteen days of release, Jurassic World has crossed the $1 billion mark, making it the fastest in history (yes, faster than both Avatar and The Avengers) to reach that landmark figure at the box office.

The movie has beaten any number of records over the past two weeks, and even managed to stop Pixar’s Inside Out from reaching the #1 spot in North America this weekend. That’s significant because it makes it their first movie to not debut at the top of the charts! Jurassic World also beat the second week record held by The Avengers after picking up a cool $106.6 million, giving it a domestic total of over $400 million.

However, Furious 7 and Jurassic World grossing over $1 billion within a matter of months serves as proof that they don’t need them! Surprisingly, they still haven’t announced a sequel to Colin Trevorrow’s movie, but it’s surely coming!

There are some who believe that Jurassic World could reach the $2 billion mark, but it’s too early to say…
