We still don’t know what to expect from the fifth instalment of the Bourne franchise which will reunite director Paul Greengrass with star Matt Damon, but another familiar face is set to return.

According to Deadline, Julia Stiles has already closed a deal to reprise the role of Nicky Parsons, the former Treadstone technician who ended up becoming an ally (and possible love interest) of Jason Bourne. Other than Damon, Stiles is the only actor to star in all three instalments of the original Bourne trilogy.

However, this isn’t actually the most exciting bit of Bourne 5 news we have for you today as it has also been revealed by The Wrap’s Jeff Sneider that The Lord of the Rings star Viggo Mortensen has been offered the role of the movie’s lead villain. It was also recently reported that Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina) has been eyed for a major part. Neither of them are confirmed as of yet, so be sure to stay tuned for updates on both.

The last Bourne movie took the spotlight off Jason to focus on a new character – Aaron Cross – played by Jeremy Renner, but it was a major disappointment. Cross isn’t expected to show up in Bourne 5, and plans for a follow-up to The Bourne Legacy were put on hold to focus on this effort from Damon and Greengrass.

As of right now, the new Bourne film is scheduled to open July 29, 2016. The title has yet to be revealed.
