Jennifer Lawrence is reuniting with David O. Russell, her director on American Hustle and Silver Linings Playbook, for Joy, a true story of the determination of one woman to change her family’s life.

Based on the life of entrepreneur Joy Mangano, the inventor of the Miracle Mop and Huggable Hangers, Russell has another dysfunctional set up rising up to overcome the accident of their births. Robert De Niro is along for the ride as Joy’s father and Édgar Ramírez appears as Joy’s husband.

The rise of America’s obsession with the legion of shopping channels (the Home Shopping Network is the main catalyst here, on which Joy’s fortunes rest) will no doubt be integral to the plot. Russell has a fine cast here, and his knack of riding us through the highs and lows of an extraordinary life will surely make this an interesting watch.

UPDATE: Here’s the fine looking poster, just released.
