Marvel’s two-part Avengers: Infinity War (both of which will be getting new titles according to the Russo Brothers), will feature Earth’s Mightiest Heroes squaring off with Thanos, a character we first met at the end of The Avengers in the movie’s mid-credits scene.

Since then, he’s made brief appearances in both Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Age of Ultron, but it’s going to be Infinity War where everything comes to a head, and that’s something Josh Brolin is clearly very excited about based on comments in a new interview.

“Yeah, I sat at a table and I listened to the story from beginning to end, which was…you know, sometimes you go around and you go, ‘Oh, it’s a great movie. Or this is a great experience,’” Brolin explained. “And you kind of know that it’s not. This is the opposite.”

“These Avengers stories all come down to this conclusion, and that’s our involvement,” the Hail Caesar! star continued. “Basically, my character against everybody. And it’s really fun what they’ve chosen to do with the story. I think it’s brilliant. I was blown away, and had goose pimples pretty much 50% of the time that I was listening to what was going on, and pretty amazed that I’m going to be involved in it. So it’s a big thing that’s coming up.”

Reading between the lines there, it definitely sounds as if we should expect things to wrap up with the Avengers (and probably the Guardians of the Galaxy too) battling Thanos, something which was to be expected, but will be incredible to see play out on the big screen!

Set for release in May of 2018 and 2019, production begins later this year, so we’ll hopefully learn more these movies over the summer. They’re clearly going to be epic though…
