In what is his debut production in the glorious world of the MCU – Jon Watts has triumphed with Spider-Man: Homecoming, and we had the pleasure of meeting the man himself during the film’s promotional tour in London.

Spider-Man: HomecomingWe discussed the joy of not having to worry about crafting an origin piece, able to dive straight into the action following Spider-Man’s brief performance in Civil War. We also ask Watts about his joy at being given the freedom to take over the reigns of this title, and the implications the sony/Marvel collaboration had on his role as director.

Watts then goes on to tell us what fans can expect of this title that is different to the preceding endeavours to feature Spider-Man, and what Tom Holland brings to the role. We also ask about Spidey’s new outfit, the joy in directing Robert Downey Jr., and whether Watts hopes to have the chance to direct within the MCU again. And, on this showing, we rather hope he does.
