The cast of Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight is already extremely impressive, but if the rumours about another name being added are true, it’s about to get even better and arguably a lot more intriguing!
American Hustle and The Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence is said to be in talks to join the cast of the movie. There’s no word on what role she would play, and as there’s apparently only one female member of the “Hateful Eight” (Daisy Domergue, a.k.a. The Prisoner”), that could be who she’s set to star as.
However, it’s mentioned that Amber Tamblyn read for that role during a recent live reading of the screenplay, so unless Tarantino is planning on recasting, that could take Jennifer Lawrence out of the running. Another key female role – Six Horse Judy – was read by Zoe Bell, but that’s said to be a very small part.
Tarantino has been working on the screenplay since then, so it’s possible that a new character could have been added, and this could ultimately boil down to little more than a cameo similar to Jonah Hill’s in Django Unchained. That seems like a waste of Jennifer Lawrence in some ways however.
Of course, as she’s so busy with both The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 and David O. Russel’s Joy (which is set to be released next year), it could be that the actress has time only for a brief appearance.
Regardless, seeing Jennifer Lawrence team with Quentin Tarantino would be an undeniable treat…
