Taken from the first novel in The Wardstone Chronicles (Published in the United States as The Last Apprentice) The Seventh Son is a dark fantasy series of books written by British author Joseph Delaney and centres on a young farmboy named Tom, a seventh son of a seventh son, who has acquired many supernatural gifts, including the ability to see ghosts and ward off witches.

Bridges will play the mentor-type role of The Spook, an 18th Century equivalent and Peter Venkman and Co., whose mission in life is to despatch ghosts and goblins.

Just Jared are reporting that makers Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures are currently looking at Alex Pettyfer for the role of Tom, with Oscar-nominated Jennifer Lawrence being eyed up for another leading part.
