It’s been an exciting week in the land of Marvel, with a whole host of new nuggets of information on many of the forthcoming films from both Marvel Studios and 20th Century Fox’s properties and the run continued today with some more news from the recently confirmed X-Men: Dark Phoenix, set for release next year.

If you’ve been under a rock for the past week, then you may have missed the official news about the latest installment in the X-Men franchise which is now in pre-production. Dark Phoenix will be the second time the famous series of comics has been brought to the screen, this time directed by X-Men and Marvel producer Simon Kinberg who has overseen the franchise for many years. Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Sophie Turner, Nicholas Hoult, Tye Sheridan, Kodi Smith-McPhee and Alexandra Shipp are all returning with Jessica Chastain (The Zookeeper’s Wife) set to play the film’s villain.

Also returning as Professor X is James McAvoy, and the actor has shared a video on his Instagram page which shows him about to “reconnect” with Charles Xavier. Check out the video below:
